The project's foundation is a camera obscura constructed by the artist himself. The photographer is not situated behind the camera, but rather within it. The images are created at a scale of 1:1, utilizing large-format film material from which life-size silver gelatin prints are produced through contact process.

Joachim Manuel Riederer employed this camera obscura to investigate the concept of space, its implications, and its impact, and subsequently began creating distinctive still lifes and portraits. The artist's influences and role models include representatives of cognitive science in the field of epistemology, which the artist was studying at the Eberhard-Karls-Universität in Tübingen from 2016 to 2020.
